Rui J. Pereira is a managing director and heads Fitch’s North American Structured Finance Group, which operates from offices in New York and Chicago. Prior to assuming his current role, Rui was a Regional Credit Officer for the Americas in Fitch’s Credit Policy Group and responsible for monitoring ratings in the region. Rui joined Fitch in 1998 as a financial institutions analyst and has held various analytical roles across sectors and regions. He ran the structured finance office in Spain for several years and lead Fitch’s US residential mortgage group after the financial crisis. Rui began his career at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, where he focused on financial institution counterparty analysis. Rui earned his BS degree in business administration and MBA from Fordham University.
