Rui J. Pereira is a Managing Director and Global Head of Structured and Fund Finance at Fitch. He leads the group responsible for assigning and monitoring credit ratings across a broad range of structured finance asset classes, including asset-backed securities, residential mortgage-backed securities, commercial mortgage-backed securities, structured credit and collateralized loan obligations, fund finance products, and covered bonds. He also oversees the group’s rating process, criteria development, and analytical research.

Over the course of his career at Fitch, Rui has held a range of senior leadership roles across sectors and geographies. He previously led Fitch’s North American Structured Finance Group, headed the U.S. residential mortgage group in the period following the financial crisis, and served as Regional Credit Officer for the Americas in the firms ’s Credit Policy Group.

Before joining Fitch, Rui worked at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, where he specialized in credit and counterparty analysis.  Rui holds a B.S. and an MBA from Fordham University.
