Peter Nakhla is an Executive Director within the Structured Finance Group at SMBC, where he is focused on warehouse and ABS origination. A career leader and senior executive, Peter joined SMBC in 2006 and has nearly 20 years of experience in both the origination and structuring of asset-backed financing solutions for clients across a variety of sectors, including consumer finance, fintech/marketplace lending, auto, solar, tech, media, and telecom.

Within these sectors, Peter has worked on several transactions involving consumer related asset classes such as unsecured personal loans, buy-now pay later, credit cards, mobile device and service payments, and solar loans, among others.

Prior to joining SMBC, Peter held similar roles at Barclays and Bear Stearns, supporting the securitized products and accounting departments respectively. Peter graduated from Fairfield University with a Bachelor of Science in finance and holds his series 7, 63, and 79 licenses.
