Karen Ramallo leads the U.S. Corporate ABS New Ratings team in Moody's Rating’s Structured Finance Group, overseeing ratings for commercial and esoteric ABS. The team covers diverse sectors like equipment, transportation, aviation, digital infrastructure, whole business, intellectual property, small business and more. She also heads Moody's Ratings activities for Latin American structured finance.  

From 2022 to mid-2025, Karen managed the U.S. Consumer ABS New Ratings team, focusing on auto loans, student loans, credit card receivables, and unsecured financings (personal loans, handset, timeshare, home improvement, solar). She previously led the U.S. Corporate ABS team from 2019 to 2022 and rejoined it in 2025. Since 2005, Karen has held other senior roles in Moody’s U.S. Commercial Real Estate Finance, U.S. RMBS, and Latin America ABS ratings teams.  

Before Moody's, she was a credit risk officer at NorthFork Bank Corp., developing risk analytics and determining the bank’s loan loss reserves for its residential mortgage and small commercial loan portfolio. Karen earned her Bachelor of Science in Economics from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
