Joel S. Kent is the US Head of Leveraged Finance Sales, Trading and Strategy as well as Investment Grade Sales & Trading for Santander CIB US, overseeing a team of Senior leaders to support our capital markets effort, drive secondary flow, and distribute US product across the Santander platforms. Joel joined the US CIB team in September 2023.

Prior to joining Santander in 2023, Joel held a variety of Executive roles at Credit Suisse, including Global Head of Global Credit Products (GCP), IB Credit Chief of Risk & Strategic Development, Global Chief Operating Officer for Credit Products, Global Chief Operating Officer of the Corporate Bank, and Co-Head of Americas GCP Derivatives Trading. Before his time at Credit Suisse, Joel held various positions at Barclays Capital, Lehman Brothers, Goldman Sachs, and the Federal Reserve Bank of New York.

Joel holds an A.B. in Business Economics from Brown University and an M.B.A from Harvard University. He also attended the London School of Economics.

Joel is co-author of The Role of Credit Default Swaps in Leveraged Finance Analysis.
