Brian Kustrup is a Managing Director and Head of Structured Product Trading in the Financial Institutions Group at Capital One. Mr. Kustrup joined Capital One in 2023 to spearhead the development and launch of the newly created Structured Product Trading business, the first securities trading business in the history of the firm. 

Mr. Kustrup has nearly 30 years of experience trading cash bonds and derivatives. Over the course of his career, Mr. Kustrup has underwritten commercial real estate loans for CMBS conduits, cracked mortgage collateral tapes, and structured various cash and synthetic mortgage and CDO deals. As a trader Mr. Kustrup has taken risk in virtually every product under the securitization umbrella, whole loans, and Emerging Market unsecured corporate debt for firms such as SMBC, Credit Agricole, and Citi, among others. He began his career in the vaunted MBS Sales & Trading analyst program at Bear Stearns. 

Mr. Kustrup holds BAs in Philosophy and Economics from Columbia University.
